Guided Horseback in Alaska

Horseback guides are not common in Alaska. The cold winters and snow depth make it challenging to rear horses in many places in Alaska. Despite the challenges there are a few horseback outfitters in Alaska. The famous Jack Dalton even tried putting snowshoes on horses back in the days of the Klondike Gold Rush. Horseback riding can be a great way to get around in the Alaska bush.
